In
1999, Jack Brolly - aka jzero - polled the members of his
Tim Buckley and Friends website as to what would be
their favorite Buckley album.
A
similar poll of favorite Tim Buckley songs can be seen here.
The
results of the Tim Buckley Album Poll have finally been tabulated.
I
devised a point system to calculate the rankings. Forty-one
people participated in the poll. Basically there are thirteen
albums which received votes. A first place vote earned the
album thirteen points...a second place vote earned twelve
points...and so on, until a thirteenth place vote earned just
one point.
There
were two bootleg tapes which one prominent member of our forum
included in her faves. I'm sure most of us are going to be
looking for that tape and the trading should be fast and furious
in the near future.
(One
other bootleg CD, Thin Wires In The Voice recieved
a total of zero votes. I think we owe a collective "drop
dead" to the vendors (CD Now, CD Universe... et.al.)
who took our orders in advance and then made us wait four
or five weeks longer than promised for delivery without telling
us that we were basically buying a booklet of someone's opinions
and a cd containing two and a half songs. Maybe the booklet
was worth a few bucks, but the cd was of terrible quality.
Maybe it can be considered a collector's item by some people,
but the way it was sold really pissed me off.)
Well
anyway, that having been said, let's get on with the results.
Many of you labored over your choices and we all agree it
was very difficult. We all have favorite songs from each of
Tim's albums.
One
of our members, Mr. Lee Underwood stated the following in
his email response:
Hi,Jack,
I
really don't pick favorites from Tim's albums. Each is a gem.
Each offers something unique and magical. Each explores a
new dimension. Each has great value in its own right. I like
'em all, even as he did. Thanks for inquiry--hope you had
a terrific vacation-- All the best, Lee
