A Valentine Day Discovery

Limewire blogger Maddy Wyatt notes how her mother turned her on to Jeff's father....

When I was 15, I made my mom sit down and listen to (Jeff) Buckley’s version of "Hallelujah" start-to-finish, certain I’d found a totally unique musician to blow her mind with.

Not only did she inform me that "Hallelujah" was actually written by Leonard Cohen, she then made a bee-line for our record collection, and pulled Tim Buckley’s "Goodbye and Hello" from the stacks.

And here suddenly was a context for the younger Buckley’s seemingly god-given gift — his dad, all of twenty years old, singing to us in the living room like a distant version of the Buckley I’d fallen for...
